The actual piercing procedure itself typically only lasts a few minutes.

Our top priority is to ensure that you can still sleep comfortably, especially if you're a side sleeper. Though the ear is home to many nerves, customers generally describe the pain level during the piercing process as a mere 5/10 at most. The sensation is often characterized as a fleeting, sharp experience that lasts only a few seconds. We advise clients to take a deep breath, with the piercing being performed as they exhale. Our suggestion is not to overthink or brace for a long, painful procedure—rest assured, the experience is far more manageable than you might expect.

Taking pain relief can help alleviate discomfort to a certain extent, but be aware that some painkillers may thin the blood and cause bleeding during the piercing process. Be sure to disclose any medications or health conditions on the consent form before your piercing, so your piercer is well-informed.

It's essential not to get pierced on an empty stomach or after consuming alcohol. Fill out the consent form attentively, providing accurate and thoughtful responses to all questions. To prevent infections or irritations, avoid getting pierced before embarking on a long journey by train or aeroplane.

Keep in mind that being in good health when getting pierced is crucial for a swift and problem-free healing process. Refrain from getting a piercing if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have recently undergone other procedures such as surgery or getting a tattoo in the same area.

A lobe piercing typically takes around 2 months to heal completely, allowing you to switch to various diamond stud earrings or other styles once it's fully healed.

Cartilage piercings, on the other hand, may take longer, often between 4 to 6 months. However, the exact healing time can vary depending on your body's response and individual healing process.

We will provide you with precise instructions on how to care for your fresh piercing before you depart from our shop. Additionally, we will present you with an aftercare package, inclusive of the appropriate solution for your new piercing and comprehensive instructions for your reference. Our utmost priority is to ensure your healing process is both safe and painless. Be sure to diligently follow your piercer's aftercare advice and never neglect the cleaning process as this can impact healing times. The healing phase is just as crucial for achieving optimal results as the piercing procedure itself. Begin using the aftercare lotion on the same day as your appointment, and we recommend doing so twice daily (morning and evening) for at least four weeks. Lobe piercings tend to heal more quickly than cartilage piercings, but there's no such thing as over-cleaning.

It's important to note that excessive touching or cleaning the piercing with unwashed hands can sometimes cause issues. To ensure a smooth recovery, avoid swimming pools for two weeks, although sea water is acceptable. By adhering to these steps, you'll be on your way to a successful healing process.

After your ears have healed from the piercing, you are free to modify your piercing if you wish. If you have obtained a stud piercing from us, you also have the option to return it for a tailored adjustment to achieve a snugger fit. This shortening procedure generally takes around 15 minutes. We do, however, recommend booking in advance to ensure our jeweller is available at our shop.
