Due to continued COVID caution over holding public events worldwide, 10 October 2020 saw a historic first for a fashion awards show: The first-ever virtual Green Carpet Fashion Awards (GCFA), which were held in a digital, virtual reality version of La Scala, Milan's iconic opera house...
...and it was also a first for cultured diamonds, as Lark & Berry can now add "first cultured diamonds brand to be worn on a virtual, green-carpet awards show" to our glimmering resume!
The totally-online Green Carpet Fashion Awards awards were hosted by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and featured stars from all around the world - dressing sustainably - to celebrate the year's green-friendly fashion efforts. Stars virtually on-hand included Robert Downey Jr, Julianne Moore and Iman - but of particular interest to cultured diamonds fans?
That would be Tony Award winning actress Sophie Okonedo, who currently appears in Netflix's popular 'Ratched' series!
Sophie wore our Wave Diamond Stud Earrings in glorious 18k gold!
She was a highlight of the awards show this year, wearing our earrings to kick off the show with a startling video in which she urged the public to make changes in our lives to ensure the planet's survival. Check out this quote from her monologue:
